Snap Shelf

Using the Snap Shelf Technology, our engineers have developed the first solid steel shelf that can be protected as an “open rack” configuration in NFPA 13. Because it meets the open rack standard, using Snap Shelf can significantly decrease sprinkler requirements, lower insurance premiums, and minimize your overall system costs.

OPEN AREA
Once installed, Snap Shelf and the racking system together have open area in excess of 50 percent. Open area is calculated based on NFPA 3.10.10. “The area of a solid shelf is defined by perimeter aisle or flue space on all four sides. Shelves, or wire mesh, slates or other materials more than 50 percent open and where the flue spaces are maintained shall be defined as open racks.”
THE DESIGN HELPS REDUCE RACK BEAM SPREADING
The cross channels are attached to the end channels by a snap together mechanism. Once fastened, the design prevents the cross channel from moving in any direction. No tools required to snap the pieces together. The design provides built in protection against rack beam spreading.
CAPABILITIES
Our products are produced in a state-of-the-art facility in Elkhart, Indiana. The site has been in operation since 1981, with a major renovation in 2001 that doubled the production space. The facility has the capability to meet the needs of any order in a timely manner with 12 rollforming lines, 20 employees, and the capacity for custom punching, forming, welding and finishing.
